After Hours Find out what happens when they stop being super... and start beingREAL.
Characters 1) I'm accepting six characters each from each of two comic universes: Marvel and DC. Three male, three female. 2) ANY character is acceptable so long as they meet the following criteria: ◦ Age 18-45 years old (or in the case of long-lived heros (Wolverine, Thor, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc.), be able to PASS for that age range) ◦ Have Superpowers OR Superhero status ◦ Unmarried. Yes, they can be involved in a relationship, but they must be unmarried. ◦ Be willing to reveal their "secret" identity and walk away from their lives to live with twelve strangers just for the fun of it. ◦ No MORE than two cast members may be from the same team (X-Men, Justice League, Avengers, Etc.). If your character has MORE than one team affiliation, please eliminate all BUT one from their background. ◦ No two cast members may have a current ROMANTIC relationship. (Just having sex doesn't count as a relationship.) ◦ All cast members should be on the side of "good". 3) Because of the SMALL nature of the cast. There is a ONE character limit per player. 4) If at ANY time your character becomes Mary Sue/Gary Stu be prepared to receive your walking papers, even if you've already been accepted into the game.
Posting 1) Your character MUST participate in a COMPLETED log/thread EVERY TWO WEEKS. Logs/threads are to be posted in the main community afterhoursrpg. These logs should be third-person past-tense storybook format. 2) ABSOLUTELY NO one-line replies to threads will be tolerated. NONE. NOT EVEN ONE. 3) OPEN THREADS should be replied to by SOMEONE within 24 hours. I'm not going to be a pain about this and count down to the minute, but they really shouldn't be open much more than that. It's just sad. Open threads mean that some one wants to play. That's a GOOD thing. 4) Once you reply to a thread let's keep the gap between responses less than 48 hours. I'm not going to be monitoring every single reply to every single thread, but it's common courtesy. If something major happens and you can't get to it, fine, but don't let there be HUGE gaps. After all, you all have to COMPLETE at least one thread every two weeks, and I don't want to hear, "I couldn't make the deadline because he/she dropped my thread!" 5) Your character MUST complete a "confessional" EVERY TWO WEEKS. Confessionals are in character discussions about what has happened in their lives, in the house, with the project, etc., etc. They should be first person narratives. "Clips" of the confessional will show up in each week's "Episode". Confessionals are to be posted in your character journal.
Miscellaneous 1) Players should be 18+. 2) That said, there should be no OOC drama. We're adults. Let's act like it. 3) In character actions have in character consequences. That means, if Wolverine and Superman get into a fist fight, one of them might be kicked off the show. 4) HIATUS: I don't like them. I just don't. If something major happens and you need a break or some time off, lemme know. You won't be kicked out of the game. Still, I expect you back in a reasonable amount of time. This is a small cast game. EVERY person is important. 5) Two weeks of real time is equal to one week in the show/game. Basically, that means that two days in real life is equal to one day in the game. But... it's really not all that important. I don't expect threads/logs to have dates other than a simple "Week One: Tuesday" designation. 6) Have fun!
As always, failure to follow the rules, can result in a time out... otherwise known as removal from the game. I've never had to kick anyone out of a game for any reason other than inactivity. Let me make this the FIRST game where I didn't have to kick out anyone for ANY reason.
P.S. I reserve the right to modify rules at any point during the game play as I see fit. I won't turn Nazi on you, but things come up that sometimes need to be addressed in the rules.
